Memon Auto started in 1967. We used to deal in spare parts for Mahindra and Mahindra. As the customers grew, so did their demands. They use to come with their vehicles to our workshop and wanted us to recondition the vehicles. That's when the idea germinated to start renovating old jeeps and make them brand new. Today Memon Auto, situated at Somwar Peth deals in all types of old and new jeeps and spare parts. We also recondition jeeps.
Memon Auto procures parts of jeeps and assemble it at the workshop. We procure jeeps from government auctions. We bring the chassis to our workshop. We reassemble the engines with new parts, put new batteries, radiators, lights, fenders, tyres, wiring and hood. We also redo the interiors with seats, adjustable seat belts, power steering and central locking. The workshop has state-of-the-art Infrastructure, with the latest machines and equipment. These jeep bodies are fabricated according to the client's specifications. It takes about 40 days for a jeep. In a month we deliver four jeeps to clients.
The catalogue has around 10 models where accessories can be added or removed, according to the client's demand. We keep tabs on changing trends in the market, so that we can bring innovation to the products and services. We have a team of 26 team members.
The clients are usually from the city and different parts of the country. There is usually a lot of demand from framers & youngsters. For farmers, we make multi-purpose vehicles, where they can carry people as well as their farm products to the market. The youngsters go for different colours & accessories. All the different accessories are handmade by our trained professionals. These products are durable and corrosion free. In some cases the client buys the jeep from the showroom and hands it over to our team. The team works according to the customer's specifications.
